Welcome to the home of the BOP Linux User Group.

We are a group of Linux and Open Source software enthusiasts ranging from novices to advanced users.

Monthly Meetings

We hold regular meetings to learn from demonstrations, mutual sharing of knowledge and through discussions.

We meet on the first Tuesday of each month at 7pm at L J Hooker Tauranga Realty, corner of 8th Ave and Cameron Rd.

Open Days

We have an open day from 9:30-3.00 pm on the last Sunday, bimonthly on the odd month Jan, Mar, May etc at the Tauranga Art & Crafts Centre, corner of Elizabeth Street and Glasgow Street next to the expressway roundabout.

The Linux group meet in the room on the south west corner of the Arts and Crafts Centre and we normally enter through the single door that opens on to Glasgow St at the south end of the building. Newcomers need to be aware that the more Windows oriented Home Computer group meet in the main room of the same building at the same time.

Open day is the day to bring your computer and your lunch, to install Linux or get help sorting out any Linux problems. Please bring to the open days $2 which is used to pay for the use of the rooms.
